What is a website?

A website is a system on the internet that is made up of one or more presentations. A website is an information resource on the World Wide Web, this is the entire collection of web pages and other information (such as images, sounds and video files) that is made available through what appears to users as single web server. It is also known as a universal database of knowledge.

Why does my business need a website?

In this computer age, there is no better marketing tool available today than a professionally created website. A good website has the ability to enhance communication between your company and your clients, conduct e-commerce with a shopping cart and credit card applications, or serve as a dynamic online presentation of your products and services.

Business websites can do the following:
  1. Provide information and promote sales 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  2. Level the playing field between your business and your competitors.
  3. Increase your ability to communicate with your customers.
  4. Enhance customer or brand loyalty.
  5. Add credibility to your business with your current and potential customers.

Over 40% of Nigerians and over 70% of Americans use the internet on a daily basis. Your customers and potential customers are using the web to obtain information, buy products, and establish relationships with businesses. Shouldn't they be coming to you instead of your competitors?

Do I still need a website if I am not planning to sell online?

There may be people who are curious about your business, but have never walked through your door because they simply haven't made the time. By providing access to your business online, these potential customers can learn about your product line, business hours, customer service policies, etc., all in the privacy of their home or office - they might just take a few moments to call, email or visit your shop the next time they have a need for the products you provide.

Even a small business has the potential to save in customer service costs by providing elementary information such as hours of operation, location and contact information. You can also display a list of frequently asked questions and answers, a calendar of upcoming events, job openings, etc.

Will you list my site on search engines like Yahoo and Google?

Yes. Your website will be listed with over 300 separate engines including Yahoo, Google, MSN, AOL, Lycos, and many others. Most popular search engines like Google and Yahoo rely on popularity (number of hits) for search engine placement. Depending on the competition in your industry, we may be able to achieve good placement on the search engines. However, if your industry has a great deal of competition, advanced search engine placement may be necessary. These procedures take a bit of time and often require resubmission to help secure a top 20 placement.

One available option is to become a sponsor for one or several of the search engines. Depending on your competition, this can cost as little as N8,000/month and will place your company at the top of specific search engine pages.

How long will it take my website to be created?

In our experience, what usually takes the longest time is gathering the necessary information. Once we have the material we need, it goes quickly. Most sites are up in one to two weeks.
